Some who have influenced her work are Rodney Yee, Tim Miller, Donna Farhi, Tias Little, Doug Keller, and Richard Freeman—showing that she has an eclectic approach to yoga and a curiosity that accommodates different styles and lineages.
In 1998, she took her first Sanskrit workshop with Cynthia Snodgrass and fell in love with the language. She has continued her studies with Vyaas Houston and her primary teacher, Leslie Freyberg, of the American Sanskrit Institute. Rhonda offers 'Intro to Sanskrit' workshops that make learning to pronounce Sanskrit terms fun and accessible. She inspires her students to be comfortable speaking aloud the names of yoga poses or chanting mantras in Sanskrit.
In 2010, she completed training as an Urban Zen Integrative Therapist (UZIT). In 2012, Rhonda became for the UZIT Training in Ohio. She is on the Urban Zen Integrative Therapy (UZIT) faculty at Ohio and Chicago as well as taught UZIT to the Nurses at Kent State University for several years.
Rhonda has been teaching Sanskrit for, and assisting at Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman Yee's 200-hour and 500-hour teaching trainings in New York since 2013. She is also a lead teacher in the Ayurveda Health Educator program at Yoga on High.
She is inspired by her students and continues to find the awe and beauty of yoga with a beginners mind…always endeavoring to “keep her cup empty” and be receptive to what is happening in each moment.
Her classes are an eclectic mix of styles and influences, but usually with a focus on alignment, ease of mind, breath awareness, and yoga philosophy. She is delighted to share her practice and teaching of yoga with others to further ignite the vast joy and wonder of this beautiful art form – yoga.
